After hiking in Mt. Shasta area, we drove to Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge. It was around 11:00 AM, and quite hot. We didn’t see too many birds in the ponds, but hundreds of swallows were flying all around the rest house at the parking lot by wildlife outlook. I saw both Cliff swallows as well as Barn Swallows. Barn swallows made nests under the roof of the rest room, and I saw them feeding babies!
