Western Tanager & Junco, Summit Lake , Lassen National Park, 6/29-7/1/2015

To cerebrate, my husband’s retirement, we bought an RV, and went camping in Northern California, Oregon, and Washington.  Our first stop was Summit Lake South Campground in Lassen National Park.

We arrived there around 4:00, and went for a walk around Summit Lake.   We saw several Western Tanagers, high up on western white pine trees.

We stayed there 3 nights.  Everyday, at dusk, several Juncos came to our camp site.  They were busy jumping up and down.  I guess they were getting their dinner (grass seeds?  insecdts?). DSC_0115

We sew many different dragonflies by the lake.
