Sequoia National Park 9/16-9/19/2015

On 9/17 We walked almost 12 miles on the High Sierra Trail s from Crescent Meadow almost to Mehrten creek and back.  We had to turn back around 2:00 p.m. to catch the shuttle to our camp site at Lodgepole.

Perhaps, due to the fire in Kings Canyon National Park, the sky was a little hazy, but we enjoyed the views of the impressive granite peaks.  The trail was very well kept, and leveled.

The following day, we walked 8.3 miles on the Lake trail from Wolverton  trail head up to Heather lake, stopping at Watch tower for lunch.  It had some steep hills, but we were awarded with breathtaking views  up there.
